I rarely use the "Jr." but will in this instance, to avoid confusion for some folks, since dad, James Climo Sr. was the director of Bement from 1957 to 1967 or 68... give or take a year.
Starting as a camper in '57 I joined the staff in 1967 as a CIT-I and in '68 returned to run the Nature Program until 1972.
Born in Springfield Mass attending 16 Acres School and eventually Longmeadow High graduating in 1970.
Received BA's in Biology and Archaeology from Catawba College and later did some Post Grad work at Wake Forest University.
Worked as a Family Photographer for over 30 years and as a Macintosh Computer repair tech for the past 15+.
The past 4 years I have been the Scout Master of Troop 525 in Mars Hill, NC and am thoroughly enjoying it. In 2008 was named Scoutmaster of the year and in 2009 I received the District Award of Merit the highest award for service to youth at the district level.
Since the Closing of Bement I have acted as a researcher and assistant to the Board and anything else I could contribute from North Carolina, including publishing the Alumni Newsletter.
I firmly believe we can save Bement if we work together.
